Halloween Fang Printable Perfect for Class Parties

by Jennifer Wieland
Halloween fang printable perfect for class parties or trick-or-treat handouts!

My two youngest boys love all things Halloween that involve spooky, gory and gross. I wanted to create a printable that I could pair with something that they would find amusing. I also wanted it to be something a little more mature. Something that tweens and teens would be amused by and not find babyish. I came up with the idea for this fun Halloween fang printable that’s perfect for class parties for tweens.

Halloween fang printable perfect for class parties or trick-or-treat handouts!

This printable is a little on the macabre side and not at all cutesy like most of my printables. Since my two youngest boys are getting older though they like less of the cutesy and more of the ghastly and I am oddly fond of this creepy creation. The styles and colors are the perfect blend of classic vampire!

Halloween fang printable perfect for class parties or trick-or-treat handouts!

When I first came up with this idea for this Halloween fang printable when I was strolling through the dollar store. There I spotted bags of individually packaged fangs that also had a pouch of red liquid candy in them so that the plastic fang chompers could look like they’d just been in someone’s neck. I know, maybe it’s a little dark for some kids but I know there are plenty who are a bit older who will get a kick out of them. I can just picture my little monsters trying out their fangs and candy all while trying to say, “I want to suck your blood!” in their best vampire voices.

Are you ready to get your hands on your own set of these printables? Then all you need to do to print out this frighteningly, fun printable or to save this Halloween fang printable PDF file to your computer is to just click on the image below. A new window will open up with the file.

Halloween Mask Gift Idea Plus Printable

by Jennifer Wieland
Halloween Mask Gift Idea Plus Printable - A perfect option for classroom parties or trick-or-treaters with food allergies!

Halloween is right around the corner and that means classroom parties and treats for all the little ghosts and goblins that come knocking on your door as well. With all of the food allergies many schools no longer allow food or candy for class parties and Halloween trick-or-treating leaves many parents of children with food allergies in fear. Today, I am going to share with you an option that goes beyond the standard pencil or eraser that you no doubt, have countless of littering a drawer in your house. How about a Halloween mask gift idea plus printable to jazz it up to set your little monster apart at their class party or make your house the most sought after by food allergy families?

Halloween Mask Gift Idea Plus Printable - A perfect option for classroom parties or trick-or-treaters with food allergies!

This Halloween mask gift idea is such a simple one. If you’ve ever been to a craft store I’m sure that in the children’s section, seasonal area or near the registers you have seen those inexpensive wooden masks that are usually about $1. They are meant to be colored in by kids and you can find them in different varieties year round. This is such a perfect thing to hand out at Halloween since masks go with Halloween just like candy. Even better? Craft stores always have coupons so this can help cut the cost of this already inexpensive idea!Halloween Mask Gift Idea Plus Printable - A perfect option for classroom parties or trick-or-treaters with food allergies!

All of these wooden masks have wooden handles for the children to hold the masks up to their faces and these handles make a great spot for a wraparound printable. I created a simple and fun one to attach to each mask. There is a blank area on the back of each printable for your child to write who the mask is to and from our if you are simply handing these out to trick-or-treaters then you can leave it blank or sign it with your family name.

Fun Pokémon Lunch Box Notes

by Jennifer Wieland
Pokémon Fun Facts and Joke Lunch Box Notes
If your house is anything like mine then you have at least one kid that is Pokémon crazy right now. For me this seems like something I have been dealing with for decades. It’s possible that I should feel that way since that’s because I have hearing all about Pokémon for almost two decades. My oldest is 23 and has been a Pokémon fan since he was five. He got his first Pokémon cards and game way back in 1998 and we waited in line on a day off of school to see the first Pokémon movie the day it came out. Now it’s my three youngest who are all about the Pokémon games, cards and shows. It was because of all of this and with school just starting that I thought it would be perfect to create some fun Pokémon lunch box notes.

Pokémon Fun Facts and Joke Lunch Box Notes

I know you were thinking, “Nearly two decades? Yeah, right!” As you can see though I have definitely got my moneys worth out of that GameBoy Advance SP and the original Pokémon Red game. Six kids later and it’s still working… LOL!

Pokémon Fun Facts and Joke Lunch Box Notes

Some of these Pokémon lunch box notes have fun facts for the budding Pokémon fan. While others have a silly Pokémon joke for your child to share with their friends at lunchtime to get a laugh out of everyone. All of them have Pokémon pictures and a Pokeball motif for the background design.

Pokémon Fun Facts and Joke Lunch Box Notes

It’s super easy to get a set of these for your kids. All you have to do to print off these Pokémon lunch box notes is to click on the image below. That will then open up a printable PDF version of the lunch box notes for you. You can either print them at that time or you can save them for future use.

5 Minute DIY Marshmallow Launcher – Summer Camp Fun Plus a Discount

by Jennifer Wieland
5 Minute DIY Marshmallow Shooter - Something fun and educational for the kids to make.

It’s getting nicer and nicer outside with each passing day and the kids are itching for the end of school so that they can play all day and have loads of fun. One of the great things about spring and summer is that there are so many cheap things to create for hours of fun. My kids love when I let them make this 5 minute DIY marshmallow launcher. When we make them it’s like summer camp is at our house. They run around the yard and even the house during bad weather shooting marshmallows at each other.

5 Minute DIY Marshmallow Shooter - Something fun and educational for the kids to make.

Quick, cheap and easy are words I love to hear when coming up with things for the kids to make. These 5 minute DIY marshmallow launchers fit the bill on all three. You can pick up every single thing you need at the dollar store and more than likely have some or all of the items at home already.

5 Minute DIY Marshmallow Shooter - Something fun and educational for the kids to make.

SUPPLIES

styrofoam cup(s)

balloon(s)

duct tape

marshmallows

scissors

INSTRUCTIONS

Cut an inch or two off of the bottom of the styrofoam cup.

5 Minute DIY Marshmallow Shooter - Something fun and educational for the kids to make.

Blow up the balloon but do not tie it. Let the air out so  it can deflate. This helps to get the balloon stretchy.

5 Minute DIY Marshmallow Shooter - Something fun and educational for the kids to make.

Tie the end of the balloon as you would if it was inflated. Cut about 1/2″ off of the rounded top.

5 Minute DIY Marshmallow Shooter - Something fun and educational for the kids to make.

Open up the end of the balloon that you just cut and stretch it to fit over the bottom (cut end) of the cup.

5 Minute DIY Marshmallow Shooter - Something fun and educational for the kids to make.

Use duct tape to secure the balloon to the cup. I like colorful or decorative duct tape. It makes the shooters more lively and each kid can pick a color/design to customize theirs.

5 Minute DIY Marshmallow Shooter - Something fun and educational for the kids to make.

Now your marshmallow shooter is all ready to go. Pop a marshmallow inside, pull the tied balloon end and let it go! Watch the marshmallow sail through the air.

One of the things I love about this project is that it’s a great way to add some science into your children’s play without your kids noticing at all. Here’s how:

  • Use both mini and regular marshmallows. Test to see which one goes farther.
  • Hold the cup at different angles. Which angle made the marshmallow shoot farthest?

Teacher Appreciation Gardening Gift Idea Plus Printable

Teacher appreciation is next week. That means it’s time to get creative and find fun and unique ways to show your kid’s teacher(s) how much you appreciate everything they have done throughout the year. I know a lot of teachers who like to garden. In fact one of our local schools has a garden that some of the teachers and staff volunteer in. I thought what would be a fun teacher appreciation gardening gift idea? Why, a garden tool and some special seed packets of course!

What I really love about this idea is that not only is it a gift that would be used and appreciated by a gardening teacher but it’s also VERY budget friendly. Seed packets are cheap and found at all kinds of stores in the spring. Gardening tools are actually a great dollar store find I love.

Wayfair Housewarming Party - Teacher APpreciation Gift Ideas #wayfairhomemaker

It’s hard to believe that the end of another school year is quickly approaching! My kids will soon be moving on from their teachers they currently have and it’s time for me to thank them for the tremendous job they have done for them and the rest of their students this year. Having worked for our school district before and being an executive board member of our PTA I know how hard the school staff work each and every day. That’s why when I got to host and pick what I wanted to do for a Wayfair Housewarming Party I knew I wanted to focus on teacher appreciation gift ideas. Teacher Appreciation Day is May 3rd this year or you can always just wait and hand them out at the end of the school year. Either way, your child’s teacher will definitely appreciate these gift ideas.

Being a printable lover, foodie, baker and all around sweets junkie I have some fun and easy ideas from past years here on My Sweet Sanity but I am also going to share some awesome ideas from some of the other Wayfair Homemakers as well.

DIY Painter Tile Coasters from Wife in Progress

I absolutely adore this idea as a teacher appreciation gift! It’s inexpensive, your child can do it themselves and it’s so functional! Your child can let their artistic side come through with this project. Plus with all the warm weather everyone knows how much cups sweat so this would be a great way to help a teacher protect their desk and all the papers they have on it.

I don’t know about you but for my kids being on IEPs and having special needs they have multiple teachers, aides and therapists that all deserve thank yous at the end of the year or sometimes at just random times. I love this easy, inexpensive and fun way to tell your child’s teachers thank you for all they do. I know the sugar and caffeine rush will also go a long way in making the days easier on them.

Candle Jar Succulent Garden from Wife in Progress

I am a huge fan of crafts that recycle or upcycle things that would be normally tossed into the trash and end up at some landfill. I also happen to burn a lot of candles here and am excited to give this a try not just as a teacher gift but for me as well. As for a teacher gift succulents in small planters like this are a great way to gift some greenery to a garden loving teacher with pots small enough for her to keep in class near the windows.

Teacher Appreciation Printable Gift Tag and Tea Gift Idea from My Sweet Sanity

I am a tea drinker and I know there are a lot of others that love the stuff as well. Last year I created this adorable lemon slice gift tag printable to attach to an insulated cup filled with different teas and sweeteners. This is a fun and useful idea because who couldn’t use an insulated cup especially a teacher when there are still many schools across the country without air conditioners. This will definitely help keep a teacher hydrated.

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and as a parent and PTA board member I know that means class parties are in my future. Our school district does not allow food treats during parties so it is always a challenge to find something to do that doe snot involve pencils, erasers or the like. I’m sure these Classroom Valentine’s Day Card Gift Idea – Watercolor Art sets will be a hit with the kids and the parents.

FREE PRINTABLE - Classroom Valentine's Day Card Gift Idea - Watercolor Art

Since I’m in the Chicago suburbs our kids spend a lot of time cooped up during the winter months due to all of the cold and snow. It’s always important to have things on hand that can help stave off the boredom of a cold, gray and snowy day. My kids love being able to make crafts or create art projects and so do most kids. That’s why I thought the idea of watercolor sets would be fun!

Kid’s Birthday Party Photo Booth Plus a Photo Frame Craft #StickaPic

by Jennifer Wieland
Kid's Birthday Party Photo Booth and Photo Frame Craft with HP Social Media Snapshots Photo Paper #StickaPic
As an HP Smart Mom Panel member, I received free products in order to host the HP #StickaPic Party. The opinions expressed here are my own.

Kid’s birthday parties used to be a thing of simplicity. A few simple games, some food, presents and cake and you were done and out of the woods as the mom throwing the party. Now though, birthday parties have gotten bigger, fancier and have more to do than ever before. So what’s a mom to do to try to keep up with all of this without breaking the family bank? Why, have your own kid’s birthday party photo booth plus a photo frame craft with HP Social Media Snapshots Photo Paper

Kid's Birthday Party Photo Booth and Photo Frame Craft with HP Social Media Snapshots Photo Paper #StickaPic

I recently had my nephew’s first birthday party and it was mustache themed. Since all of the cousins were coming and were older, I wanted to give them a fun and entertaining craft project to do at the party. Lucky for me HP was kind enough to get my party planning craft idea in gear with some supplies.

Kid's Birthday Party Photo Booth and Photo Frame Craft with HP Social Media Snapshots Photo Paper #StickaPic

I decided I would setup my HP Envy 5540 printer and create a makeshift photo booth for the kid’s to get their pictures taken with hat, beard & mustache props.

Kid's Birthday Party Photo Booth and Photo Frame Craft with HP Social Media Snapshots Photo Paper #StickaPic

Then I printed out the photos for the guests. I used my cell phone to take the pictures and then printed the pictures to my HP Envy 5540 printer since it’s wireless. I used the Social Media Snapshots app on my phone to print. This app is available on both iOS and Android devices and can pull pics from your social media apps with captions.

My little niece waiting very patiently for her picture.

The HP Social Media Snapshots Photo Paper is sticker paper so it’s easy to peel and stick for kids.

Kid's Birthday Party Photo Booth and Photo Frame Craft with HP Social Media Snapshots Photo Paper #StickaPic

I made a photo frame craft by using chipboard albums I had found at Michael’s. They were perfect since they would fit the photos and already had two holes in them to run ribbon or twine through to hang them up.

Kid's Birthday Party Photo Booth and Photo Frame Craft with HP Social Media Snapshots Photo Paper #StickaPic

I cut off the bottom, white area of the photos before the kids stuck them to the chipboard. The kids then stuck the pictures of themselves onto the chipboard and then decorated them with stickers, paint markers and glitter glue.

Kid's Birthday Party Photo Booth and Photo Frame Craft with HP Social Media Snapshots Photo Paper #StickaPic

They then ran ribbon or twine through the wholes and tied it and BOOM! They had an adorable gift to keep or give mom and dad.

The photo booth and the photo frame craft were the hit of the party with the kids!

4th of July Edible Centerpieces

by Jennifer Wieland
4th of July Edible Centerpieces

The 4th of July is this weekend and for us the holiday usually involves the local parade, a family BBQ and fireworks to round out the night. I’m sure this is also how a lot of other people spend the day as well. It’s a great holiday for friends, family and fun. For the tables this year I decided to make 4th of July edible centerpieces since our family is over run with kids currently. Something that the kids or kids at heart could just grab and nosh on when they felt like it.

4th of July Edible Centerpieces

These edible centerpieces consist of star marshmallows in two sizes, Rice Krispie Treats cut out with a star cookie cutter, candies and sprinkles for the edible portion.

4th of July Edible Centerpieces

This is also a great thing to make and let the kids put them together and decorate. Not only does it lessen your work but it also keeps the kids out-of-the-way so you can get everything else done.

4th of July Edible Centerpieces

For the stands to hold the edible treats you can use any red, white or blue containers that you think will work. I personally used a red, square, bamboo cup and a blue, oval, tin bucket.

DIY Felt Doll Diapers

by Jennifer Wieland
DIY Felt Doll Diaper #RecycleYourPeriodPad #ad

My daughter loves playing in the tub with her tub toys. She has one in particular that is her favorite. It’s a doll that was made to be played with in the tub. She comes with a decent opening in her back to drain out all of the water that gets inside while in the tub but no matter how much we shake, hang, twist and shake there is always some left over water. She then drags water all over when she tries to play with her out of the tub. To combat this I decided that her doll needed some diapers. You see her leaks tend to come from her leg joints. Buying doll diapers was to costly an option so I decided to giver doll greener diapers to use. These DIY Felt Doll Diapers are just what we needed.

DIY Felt Doll Diaper #RecycleYourPeriodPad #ad

To make the diapers I bought sheets of felt and Velcro dots with sticky backs. I then played around until I came up with a shape that worked for her doll. You can get the template for it here. While these diapers were cute with their bright color and floral prints they still didn’t fully combat the problem of her leaks. These diapers needed something to make them absorbent! I decided to recycle period pads and use them for the absorbent center I needed for the doll. Now she has a functional doll diaper so she can play with her doll without the occasional drips here and there.

DIY Felt Doll Diaper #RecycleYourPeriodPad #ad

While it was fun stopping my daughter’s doll from leaking with period pads those just don’t work for women who are sometimes leaky. When that leaking hits you need something made just for that so you don’t end up dribbling everywhere like my daughter’s doll.

Poise Thin-Shape Pads provide comfort and protection. #RecycleYourPeriodPad #ad

Did you know one in three women experience Light Bladder Leakage (LBL) – little leaks that can be triggered by everyday occurrences like coughing, sneezing, laughing and exercise? Weak pelvic floor muscles, pregnancy, childbirth and weight gain are just a few LBL contributors.Women deserve the best options for managing LBL. Whether you leak a little when you laugh, or sometimes have a sudden urge to go, Poise gives you one less thing to worry about any time of day or night. Our pads and liners are specifically designed for LBL, which makes them an easy choice for the 1 in 3 women with light bladder leaks. New Poise Thin-Shape pads feature Super Absorbent Material (SAM) and a Thin-Flex design for extraordinary protection that’s still 3x drier than period pads to help you take care of leaks with confidence.

Poise Thin-Shape Pads provide comfort and protection. #RecycleYourPeriodPad #ad

Stay drier and more comfortable by requesting a sample and coupon of the new Poise Thin-Shape pads so you’re protected from dribbles.
