My daughter loves to dance! You can always find her listening to some new song and making up a dance routine to go along with it. Since she loves to dance so much she is a HUGE fan of the Just Dance video game franchise. She also just so happens to be a lover of all things Disney, so the Just Dance: Disney Party 2 game was something she really wanted.
One day last week my daughter came home from school cranky and in a bad mood. That’s just not like her. She is usually very bubbly and excited to tell me all about her day. Then I noticed her nose was a little runny and I realized that the ups and downs of our weather temps had set off her allergies again.
Once I showed her the surprise I had in store for her, the Just Dance: Disney Party 2 game she perked up pretty darn quick! We’re talking jumping up and down and squealing while begging to play immediately.
Moving, grooving and twirling to the moves of the game were most definitely a hit with my daughter! Just Dance: Disney Party 2 features more than 20 tracks from the hottest Disney Channel hits, with songs from movies like “Descendants” and “Teen Beach 2” as well as shows like “Girl Meets World” and “Liv and Maddie.”
She’s been through all of the songs and dances but her two favorite ones are Better in Stereo from “Liv and Maddie” and Can You Feel It? from “Austin & Ally”. I have to confess that even I have been getting my groove on with her playing this game.
Just Dance: Disney Party 2 is now available on Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Nintendo’s Wii and Wii U systems.

The product has been provided by VTech so you could experience it with your family; however, the thoughts and opinions are all your own.
My daughter is a little fashionista! Shopping, clothes, shoes and accessories have always drawn her in. Her first word was shoe (pronounced sue while clapping and pointing at a pair of shoes in a store) and she’s been a slave to fashion since. Having a father in I.T. and a mother who used to work in corporate I.T. too has also made her a tech junkie. So when VTech asked if we wanted to test one of their Kidizoom Smartwatch DXs I knew she would love it for both the fashion and function.
What is the VTech Kidizoom Smart Watch DX?
(Ages 4-9 years; MSRP: $64.99)
- The VTech Kidizoom Smartwatch DX is an even smarter watch for kids with better specs including double the internal memory and improved image quality, plus new features such as exciting motion-activated games, eye-catching 3D clock faces and new tools to hone basic math skills
- Young photographers can take tons of pictures and videos and get creative with fun photo effects, video camera and voice recorder with voice-changing effects
- In addition to the alarm, timer and stopwatch, the Kidizoom Smartwatch DX has 2 new tools including a calendar feature and a calculator so your child can work out simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division problems
- Little fashionistas will love the new design and trendy colors available, including blue, vivid violet, pink, red and camouflage
- Digital and analog display comes with more than 50 3D clock face designs and is splash proof for everyday play (splash and sweat proof; do not submerge and not suitable for showering or bathing)
- Features rechargeable Lithium Ion battery and includes micro USB cable to upload photos/videos as well as recharge the battery
- More than just a watch, it’s the VTech Kidizoom Smartwatch DX!
My daughter received the VTech Kidizoom Smartwatch DX in vivid violet. She loved the color and that it had pink accents because those are her two favorite colors. Once we opened up the package we took out the contents, the smartwatch, micro USB cable and user’s manual. We downloaded the Learning Lodge software from VTech and connected the Kidizoom Smartwatch DX to get it setup.
After that my daughter spent hours checking out all of the apps, taking pics, making videos and recording voices. To say that she loved this would be an understatement. For a child who routinely acts like she is on camera talking about her life this was a way to make that into reality for her. It is her absolute favorite fashion accessory!
As a parent and a tech junkie I loved it. The pictures and video were surprising better than I would have expected from what is essentially and educational toy. I like that the game apps are educational and that she is learning while she plays.

I was provided a sample for the purpose of review but all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
A few weeks ago I attended the Chicago Toy & Game Fair. There my kids and I were able to check out all of the hot new toys and games coming out. One of the first toys we saw there was Spin Master’s Sew Cool Sewing Studio. My daughter had to be pried away from this toy! She absolutely loved, loved, loved it! So when Spin Master asked if I’d like to review one on the blog I immediately said yes! The Sew Cool Sewing Studio is a perfect gift for any child who loves crafts and being creative.
My daughter has a little vanity in her room and she has now turned it into her sewing table. She went through all of the included projects the first night and it’s not like there aren’t a ton included. It comes with 9 different projects. Luckily from all of the crafting I do around here myself I have a large supply of scrap felt. She has been supplying her creative, crafting from there now. She has even been coming up with her own little projects outside of the included patterns. She’s made a case for her sunglasses and these little envelope pouches for jewelry.
The Sew Cool Sewing Studio is for kids ages 6 and up. My daughter will be six in 1 1/2 months and she had no problems learning how to use and operate the Sew Cool machine. The machine itself does not work like a traditional sewing machine as there is no actual thread. Instead you use felt and the pieces are felted together. The felting needles are enclosed so you don’t have to worry about little fingers getting hurt at all.
If you have a creative child at home that loves craft projects then this is the perfect gift for them this holiday season! The kids love being able to create and having a finished project that they can use or give to a friend or loved one as a little present.

I think most people would agree that Christmas time is a magical time of joy, happiness and family traditions. Ask any family that celebrates Christmas and they can all tell you at least one tradition that their family follows every single year to make their holiday season that much more special. Some people have very specific ways they decorate their trees, others love to sing carols, some write letters to Santa or watch a favorite movie and the list goes on and on from there. This year Hallmark is trying to help you add to your traditions with some fun toys based off of the new movie they have coming out called Northpole. On November 1st Walmart will be carrying an exclusive line of toys from Northpole brought to you by Hallmark so you can add some new traditions this year.
It may be the end of October but like many other children Christmas is already on my kids’ minds. So when I received some the Once Upon a Northpole Christmas book, the Find Me, Santa Snowflake and the Northpole Communicator my group was excited. These will definitely fit nicely into our Christmas traditions and add a new one too.
Every year we spend an evening decorating the tree, waiting to turn the lights on until everything has been placed. We love adding new ornaments to our tree each year and the Find Me, Santa Snowflake is going to be a perfect addition this year. With a press of a button it lights up changing colors to let Santa know where you are. There is even a spot to write your name(s) on it so Santa knows just who he looking for.
We follow-up our tree decorating with some Christmas stories and carols to really get everyone into the Christmas spirit. This year we will be adding the Once Upon a Northpole Christmas to the mix. My seven-year old has already been practicing reading it so he can do a good job when we decorate the tree.
This year we get to add an exciting new tradition that I have to tell you my kids are ridiculously excited about! We have a Northpole Communicator and starting December 1st we will get to talk to the Northpole. They can reach us and we can reach them as well. Each day leading up to Christmas this will happen and my daughter keeps checking in with the Northpole to see if it’s time. This one is going to be loads of fun for us and I just love anything that makes the kids giddy at Christmas!
Are you a Hallmark fan? Maybe you just want to add some new and fun holiday traditions to your season this year with #NorthPoleFun? Enter below and you can win a Hallmark Northpole gift pack!

This post was sponsored by Zoomer Zuppies and I was compensated to write it. Regardless, what I have written is my own opinion and experience, and I hope you find it of use.
My three youngest kids have been dying for a pet! It is a weekly debate here. There is begging and pleading and sometimes even crying and whining. It’s not that I am anti-pet but there are a couple reasons why a pet is just not going to happen. The first one is that I already have enough people that I have to clean up after constantly and just don’t need anymore work piled on me. Contrary to what my husband and kids promise I know from past experience when we did have a pet that I end up doing the work. The second problem is that I am allergic to cats which wouldn’t be bad because they really want a dog but my daughter happens to be allergic to dogs. They did offer a compromise and asked for a pig instead but I had to explain to my daughter that I didn’t want her sleeping with pork products. Then I found out about Zoomer Zuppies which are fun robotic dogs and I knew it would be my answer.
I headed over to my local Walmart to check out all of the different Zoomer Zuppies toys and pick the one that was perfect for my family. The dogs range in price from $29.99 – $99.99. I opted for one of the new Zoomer Zuppies, Shadow that does over 20 different tricks and has an additional set of secret tricks it can learn. He was the most expensive but he was also the most interactive with the most tricks so that made me think along the lines of a real dog. I was so excited! I couldn’t wait to get Shadow home and charged so the kids would be surprised when they got home from school.
When the kids came home from school I showed them their new Zoomer Zuppies, Shadow and they thought he was cute but they didn’t seem super excited. I then explained to them that he was a robot dog and turned him on and handed them the training checklist card so that they could try some tricks with him. Once they understood to pet his head (lightly push down) so that you can give him a command, they were hooked! The one issue we had was that sometimes two of the kids would try to give him a command in their excitement and poor Shadow would get confused. Once I explained to them that they could only give one command at a time they got it. My 5 and 7 year olds already want to take him to school to show all of their friends and my 10 year old I often find quietly playing with him when the other two are not around. My daughter’s favorite command to give Shadow is follow me so he follows behind her and both of my boys think the go pee command is hilarious! (You can’t go wrong with potty humor and little boys.) The kids have also enjoyed learning more and playing at the Zoomerpup.com site.
Zoomer Zuppies are great toys and give a young child the joy of a pet without all of the responsibility. These would be a great hit this holiday season for any little animal lovers or tech fanatics in your life.

I received products from Winning Moves Games to facilitate the review of this product but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
I come form a family that loves, loves, loves to play games… card games, board games, you name it. Every holiday we break out the games and play hard for the win. We are a competitive lot and there are some games that we learned very early on in age how to play. Games that work for children and adults alike and Touring is one of these games. I remember playing it as a child with my mom at night or on a rainy afternoon. I also remember my sister and I being even younger and liking the pictures and numbers on the cards and sneaking off with the card game to create our own version of the game after seeing the adults play it.
Now, some of you may remember this game, some of you may not but it’s a fun card game that can be played with 2-6 players. In the game the object is to be the first person or team to reach the required of number of miles first. You can go once you have a Go card and you can pick up speed with a Freeway card. Your opponents can stop your progress with Hazard cards that will delay your travel, like Flat Tire cards. You can get past these with Remedy cards, like the Mechanic card.
The game is recommended for ages 7+ and takes 35-50 minutes to play. So it’s not to long for kids to be able to play through but long enough that one game is plenty, at least that’s how it is with my group. Since it is a card game the setup is quick and you get the game going right away. When I was a kid I remember loving this game because it was like driving which was something I couldn’t do and my boys liked it for the same reason. There’s just something about the whole car travel concept that really draws them in. So if you are looking for a fun, family card game and have car fans in the house then this will definitely be a hit.

I received products from Winning Moves Games to facilitate the review of these products but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Are you on the lookout for something other than candy to fill Easter baskets with this holiday season? If so, then have I got something to share with you. Winning Moves Games was kind enough to send over two of their Splash Cards games for me to review. We received Splash Pals which is designed to improve math and memory skills and Splashimals which is 15 animals with over 225 different combinations. When my five-year old saw these she was so excited because you see, Splash Cards can be played in the tub because they are washable and waterproof.
Splashimals comes with 30 cards and each card has half of an animal pictured on it with half of the animal’s name. There are four different play options that really keep the game fun, interesting and age appropriate. Splash Pals comes with 36 cards and has four different age level types of play like the Splashimals but it also has a game and instructions for it. My daughter loves this game and I like that it helps with early math addition. Both games come in mesh pouches with Velcro closure too so that the water can easily drain from the cards and they dry out nicely.
My daughter has our tub cluttered with dolls, foam toys, squirters and numerous other tub toys. She wanted to jump in the tub right away and start playing. For the sake of the review we did play with the cards out of the tub though which was still lots of fun. She has been playing with the cards though in the tub at bath time and could not be happier with them.
I personally like the games because you can play with them in or out of the tub. The games are also designed for children ages 2(and under)-6 and the really great thing is they have different ways to use the cards based off of the child’s age. I like a game or toy that can grow with the kids and that they can get a ton of use out while learning and having fun. My seven and nine-year old boys who try to avoid bathing at all costs even started playing with them too in the tub. It has made bath/shower time so mush easier.
This Easter if you are trying to fill Easter baskets but want to avoid all of the candy or just want to add a fun and educational game then I would definitely recommend that you get these. For more information on Splash Cards and to check out the two other Splash Cards games be sure to head on over to the Winning Moves Games website. You can also find them on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.

I was provided with samples of Glitzi Globes and Trash Packs from Moose Toys to distribute for Halloween as a candy alternative.
In this day and age of peanut, dairy, gluten and other food allergies and with many schools banning food treats from class parties it is nice to have another option for kids. An option that is something that they actually like, want and enjoy when they receive it. Enter Glitzi Globes and Trash Packs. These mini collectible toys and trading cards for girls and boys are a fun way to provide children with a treat that is not laden with sugar and takes the worry out of what if a child has an allergy.
On Halloween I was able to hand out Glitzi Globes and Trash Packs at a class party and to trick-or-treaters. These were a huge hit with all of the kids! I used them as party prizes in a class party and my nine-year old son came up to me and said, “Mom, I think everyone really likes the toys!” He was right too. All the kids were trying to win at Bingo to get one. Luckily, by the last classroom game of toilet paper mummies everyone was able to pick one. The kids hurriedly opened them up and everyone was showing each other what was in their package.
The Trash Packs also had trading cards. So the boys had trading cards and they also received the Trash Pack itself which contains a trash can with a little trash monster inside. The Glitzi Globes come with everything to make a cute, little snow globe including a different little figure in each one for the middle of the snow globe.
These were so popular that even though it rained here all day long on Halloween our house quickly became a must stop trick-or-treat stop. The kids were excited about getting a toy instead of candy. I even had a group of boys look in their bags to see what I dropped in and look up with the oldest exclaiming, “God bless you!”
These are not just for Halloween though. These would make a great treat for classroom winter parties or a great stocking stuffer. You could also add them in birthday party treat bags, hand out at church events or holiday parties.
For more information be sure to check out the Glitzi Globes website or on Facebook and the Trash Pack website or on Facebook.
