St. Patrick’s Day Wreath

St. Patrick's Day Wreath

FTC DisclosureYesterday it was supposed to snow again here in Chicago. I was not feeling that and wanted to do something that would move my mind towards spring. I decided to work on a St. Patrick’s Day wreath for my front door. I figured if fun, festive St. Patrick’s Day couldn’t get me out of my winter blahs then nothing would.

It worked! By the time I finished, my table and I were both completely covered in glitter and honestly, glitter just makes me smile like a five-year old. In fact, my five-year old was playing in it. It was all kinds of fun! We were tossing it around calling it pixie dust and just like all things like this, it’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt. That’s right there was an injury. I took some glitter to the eye when I rubbed my eye with my glitter covered hands. Can I just say, that hurts!

Anyway, I really like the wreath! It is very much in keeping with the whole vibe of St. Patrick’s Day. You know, that means it’s got lots of green, gold, sparkle and shamrocks. So if you are looking for a quick project to get your home ready for St. Patrick’s Day then try this one. I had it done in under an hour.

St. Patrick's Day Wreath

Supplies:

3 6 yd. spools of 5″-6″ tulle (I used glitter tulle in green, light green and gold)
1 10″ styrofoam wreath
green ribbon
shamrock embellishments (I used Jolee’s Boutique)
scissors
ruler
hot glue gun and glue sticks

Instructions:

Cut the tulle into 10″ long pieces. Tie pieces evenly onto the wreath leaving the knots and excess on the outside of the wreath. Using the hot glue gun attach the ribbon to the back of the wreath to hang it and glue on the shamrocks.

This is a super easy project that anyone can make to get themselves into the St. Patrick’s Day spirit.

I love this wreath. The colors are great. While I am not a “glitter makes everything better” kind of gal, I do really like it on your wreath. You used just the right amount – a bit of sparkle without being blinding (except when the glitter gets in your eye). 😉
