(Cue John Williams Star Wars Theme Song in all its instrumental glory.) A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away… back to school was approaching quickly and I wanted to create some fun new lunchbox printables for the boys. My seven and ten-year olds have recently started liking Star Wars through video games. I know, I know somehow I failed as a nerdy mom there because we have been valiantly trying to get Luke into Star Wars since we named him. Seriously, my husband walks around saying, “Luke, I am your father.” all the time. He’s getting there now though and that’s all that matters. He also happens to be the child who most likes to get lunchbox notes. So I decided to create some fun, nerdy, totally cool Star Wars Lunchbox Notes Printables to use in the boys lunchboxes this school year. They are adorably geeky and oh so perfect for the sci-fi loving family.
I had a lot of fun making these. I wanted the characters to be more kid-friendly in their appearance and I think it works for this purpose. I was also able to find a cool Star Wars font to use and then the real fun began. I knew some quotes from the movies I was going to use but I wanted to get quotes to use with each of the characters I had. Some were a little harder than others to find a kind phrase from. Darth Maul, Boba Fett, Darth Vader & Emperor Palpatine aren’t exactly sweet guys known for their warm and fuzzy feelings in the movies and cartoons. Luckily though I was able to find some or snippets of some that totally worked for this little project.
Luke is really into getting lunchbox notes. Last year he would save each one in his lunchbox and bring it home to show it to me and tell me what he thought of the note I had left for him on that day. It was really rather sweet and cute and for an Autistic child to want to start a conversation voluntarily it’s always a good thing. I am hoping him and his brother really get a kick out of these.

Seriously! Aren’t these adorable?
