I was able to pick her favorite colors, add a photo of her and customize the M&M’S to wish her a happy birthday. Then I went through all of the different packaging options and was able to pick single serve packaging in her favorite color, pink.

The holidays are fast approaching and in the mix of holidays I’m sure we all have a birthday, anniversary, wedding, shower or countless other things thrown into the mix too. Sometimes life sneaks up on you and you’re in need of a last-minute rushed gift. While other times you plan way in advance but know that a gift card is the perfect gift. Who wants to just send a dull boring gift card in an envelope or via email? A gift should have some life and personality to it right? That’s why I love that you can make fun personalized gift card gifts with The Gift Card Shop!

Make Fun, Personalized Gift Card Gifts with The Gift Card Shop!

My sister has been a little down lately. She has five kids and three of them are ages two and under. She has a 12-year-old daughter, a 9-year-old son, 2-year-old boy, girl twins and a 1-year-old son. Basically, she has been pregnant or in new mom mode for three years straight. She spends all her time running the old kids around while hauling three little ones with her. At home she spends her day chasing down diaper clad bottoms going in three different directions. Her husband is a great guy and helps as much as possible but he works. However, there are always diapers, sleepless nights and days she prays for a shower alone for some me time.

I really wanted to send her a pick me up. Something to cheer her up and let her know that someone understands how much she needs a moment to herself to remember that she is not just mommy but Kim too. So I headed to The Gift Card Shop to find an egift card she would love but one that she would also spend only on herself. So she could indulge in some shopping. (I will even babysit.) I picked out a Sephora card because she loves beauty products and I know she’ll enjoy getting to try to pick out new items.

It was so easy to order and personalize this gift with The Gift Card Shop that I’m going to show you!

Once I found the one I wanted, Sephora, I clicked the link for it. There I was able to select a denomination, choose between a digital gift card or a physical one and then I could either add to cart or personalize. I opted for the digital card and to personalize.

I was then taken to a a page where I could select from digital greeting cards, digital photobooks or digital video greetings. All of these would be a perfect option but i kept it simple and selected a digital greeting card.

I was then taken to a selection of beautiful card designs and narrowed it down with the occasions along the left side of the page. I went to the Just Because section of cards to find just what I was looking for. I then clicked on the card I wanted.

I decided to go with this Chin Up Buttercup card for my sister. I loved the beautiful flower background with the bold, silly saying. This is where you begin creating. Once you get the large view of the front you can select Back to pick a different card or Next to start to personalize it. If you select a card with a photo you can upload pictures from your computer, Facebook or Instagram.

I typed a fun message to my sister and “signed” it. I was able to select different font types, colors, sizes and alignment. When I was happy with it I clicked on the Next button.

Happily Ever After Printable

by Jennifer Wieland
Happily Ever After Printable

I love a good love story. I sob at the end of a romantic movie when the guy gets the girl. I get teary eyed when I watch a viral marriage proposal on the internet. I read romance novels like they are going out of style. Basically, I am one hopeless romantic! That’s not a bad thing. Especially when Valentine’s Day the most romantic day of the year is right around corner. In honor of all of the love, romance, flowers, chocolates, candlelit dinners and bow chicka wow wow I decided I wanted to make a Happily Ever After Printable!

This Happily Ever After Printable is a tribute to every classic fairytale. I wanted to create something that looked like an aged page from an old world story about princesses, their handsome princes and nefarious plots. **sigh** I decided to go for an antiqued or aged page from a book look. As if you had just opened the story and were about to start reading a glorious tale complete with over the top, elaborate fonts. I think I succeeded in my goals for a romantic, wistful print.

Happily Ever After Printable

For this Valentine’s Day or to add a romantic touch to any room in your house. All you have to do is download the printable and print it off. Pop it into the frame of your choice and there you have it, a lovely piece of art for your home or a romantic gift ready to be bestowed upon your fair maiden or brave knight.

Trying to get your romance on and looking for more ideas for Valentine’s Day? Then be sure to check out some of my other Valentine’s Day recipes and projects.

Dollar Tree’s Anniversary Celebration

by Jennifer Wieland
Dollar Tree Anniversay Bonus Buys
Thank you to Dollar Tree for sponsoring today’s post.

I remember going to Dollar Tree a long time ago. It has changed a lot over the years bringing in more brand name and high quality products that you get for a much better deal than you will find at your regular stores. I know I am often at one of the two Dollar Tree stores that are near my house looking for craft supplies, buying cleaning items, grabbing snacks for the kids or buying some seasonal decorations. That’s the big reason I am so excited about Dollar Tree’s Anniversary Celebration.

Dollar Tree’s Anniversary Celebration is going on now through October 11th and what makes me want to celebrate? It’s all of the amazing Bonus Buys with up to 58% more free in every item that they have to offer for this celebration. I don’t know about you, but free is always a winner in my book. Getting twice as much for the same $1 is definitely a reason to stop in to your local Dollar Tree or to shop online. Quantities are limited on the Bonus Buys so you’re going to want to hurry before you miss them.

In addition to all of the hot deals you can get during Dollar Tree’s Anniversary Celebration, you can also grab all of your Halloween décor, candy, costume accessories, and more for your Halloween fun. If you’re like me with a house full of kids you know how expensive those Halloween costume accessories and trick-or-treat bags can get. Paying $1 for each item is definitely not a trick but is totally a treat for me instead.

Dollar Tree Anniversary Bonus Buys

With all of these deals I am planning on sending my oldest son some care packages. He’s a senior in college this year and renting a house with a few of his friends. I figure since he won’t be home for Halloween I will send him some care packages with sweets and treats, cleaning supplies, health and beauty supplies and even some fun Halloween items. Being college students, I am sure everyone in the house will appreciate them. Plus, it’s always nice to get surprise packages!

Here are the Bonus Buys I plan to get for my care packages at Dollar Tree’s Anniversary Celebration:

Cleaning/Household Care Package

  • 128-oz. Jugs of L.A.’s Totally Awesome® Ammonia
  • 48-oz. Bottles of Pine Glo® Disinfectant Cleaner
  • 24-ct. Canisters of Good & Clean® Disinfectant Wipes

Health & Beauty Care Package

  • 4.6-oz. Tubes of Crest® Toothpaste
  • 2-ct. or 3-ct. Packs of Dial® Bar Soap
  • 6-Roll Packs of Eversoft Bath Tissue

How To Make a Great Loves Print

How to make a Great Loves Print - My Sweet Sanity #DIY #Craft #wedding #anniversary

Late last week my brother and his fiance became proud homeowners for the first time. They bought a home a short drive from my parent’s house and the kids and I got to go and take a tour of it on Friday. Whenever I go visiting to a new home for people I know I always like to bring them a little housewarming gift. Since this was the first time since college that either of them has lived on their own they need pretty much everything. I decided to gift them with a Thirty-One Room For Two Utility Tote filled with all sorts of things from measuring cups and spoons to toilet paper to detergent and bleach and a lot of other goodies. The one goodie that I was really proud of and the only one I made for them was a framed Great Loves Print. I had so much fun making it for them and they loved it so I would say it was a good idea. Now, I want to teach you how to make a Great Loves Print for yourself or to gift at a housewarming, bridal shower, wedding or anniversary for someone you know.

How to make a Great Loves Print - My Sweet Sanity #DIY #Craft #wedding #anniversary

The idea for the Great Loves Print is not my idea. In fact, I have seen them for sale in different variations on Jane.com in the past. I couldn’t find a link to a current one. On Jane.com the prints usually sell for $9.99 plus shipping. Now that is just for the print. There’s no frame or anything else. I was able to create the print and have it printed on card stock at OfficeMax and buy a frame with a matte in it from JoAnn all for a mere $7. That’s right and that’s a whole heck of a lot cheaper.

How to make a Great Loves Print - My Sweet Sanity #DIY #Craft #wedding #anniversary

This is the print I made for my husband and me.

So how does one make this totally awesome print?

It’s easy and here’s how…

Go to picmonkey.com, go to design and select your size.

PicMonkey Photo editing made of win

You will be taken to the above screen and put into the Canvas Color. Select the background color that you want for your print and clink on the Apply button.

How to make a Great Loves Print - My Sweet Sanity #DIY #Craft #wedding #anniversary

Next you will need to click on the Tt icon along the left hand side. It will take you to the text window. Select the font you want to use. You can either use Picmonkey’s fonts (The ones with crowns by them are for paying users but not to worry there are a lot of free ones.) or you can click on Yours and use any of your fonts on your machine. You will click on the font and then on Add Text. This will open a text box and another box for the text properties. Select the color and size for your font here. Be sure to copy the font color you use so you can just paste it for the rest of the text boxes. Type a couple and size it to fit they way you want. Continue to do this for each couple making sure to match up the sizes. I like to move the text boxes over one that is already done to make sure they match up perfectly. The actual couples name should be somewhere near the middle and it should also be in bold with a gap between the names to place the heart.

How to make a Great Loves Print - My Sweet Sanity #DIY #Craft #wedding #anniversary

This is what it should look like when you have all of the names in and are ready to add the heart.

Need some inspiration on couples to use for your print?

You will need to click on the butterfly icon along the left hand side to get to the Overlays. Scroll down and expand the Hearts overlay section. Click on the heart you want to use and it will place it on your picture. Adjust it so that it is sized and centered correctly between your couple’s names. You can change the color of the heart (most will have two colors) by clicking on the boxes and selecting colors from the color grid or by manually typing in a color code.

Now it’s time to save your project so click on the Save button above your picture. In the save screen click on the File Name box and delete what is there.
